Tekno confirms Le Brocq for 2019 season

Jack LeBrocq

Tekno Autosports has moved to confirm Jack Le Brocq as its driver for the remainder of the 2019 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.

Le Brocq’s future at the team has been uncertain for weeks after team owner Jonathon Webb was unable to confirm if the 26-year-old would race the #19 ZB Commodore post Phillip Island following what appeared to be a falling out between the two parties.

Webb had previously told Speedcafe.com that the team was evaluating its driver options.

Le Brocq appeared set to race at Perth having travelled to the circuit yesterday.

However, the operation has now issued a statement confirming that he will be driving at this weekend’s Pirtek Perth SuperNight and will remain in the seat for the remaining rounds of the campaign.

“I’m pleased to confirm that I am in Perth this weekend and will complete the 2019 Supercars Championship with Truck Assist Tekno Racing as planned,” said Le Brocq in a team statement.

“My focus can now be entirely on maximising performance throughout the remaining rounds to achieve the best possible results for myself, the team and our partners.”

Team owner Webb added: “We are looking forward to this weekend’s racing, we have heavily invested in Jack’s development, and by extinguishing any distraction, we reaffirm our support and belief in his ability.”

Le Brocq will jump behind the wheel of the #19 Tekno Holden in today’s opening practice at the Pirtek Perth SuperNight, which is scheduled to start at 1840 local time/2040 AEST.
