New Zealander Marcus Armstrong has finished second-fastest in the FIA Formula 3 Championship’s Paul Ricard test after being pipped by Christian Lundgaard on the second day.

Armstrong (Prema Racing) logged a 1:48.800s with 10 minutes remaining in the morning session, before being bettered by Renault junior Lundgaard by 0.014s.

Liam Lawson (MP Motorsport), the second Kiwi in the field, was eighth fastest as the bulk of the personal best times came in the morning.

Australian Alex Peroni (Campos Racing) ended that session, and the day combined, in 11th.

Armstrong had been fastest on the opening day with a time of 1:49.243s.

The next test is at Barcelona on April 9-10, with Round 1 supporting the Spanish Grand Prix at the same circuit on May 10-12.
