Brad Jones Racing has unveiled a bold new look for Nick Percat for this weekend’s Coates Hire Newcastle 500 season finale.
The #8 Commodore has adopted a metallic orange colour scheme to showcase sponsor Timken which has taken over the primary branding on the car for the final round.
Timken, a supplier of bearings and transmission, sponsored the car at Winton earlier this year as part of the rolling sponsorship system the team has employed on Percat’s entry.
Percat heads into the final round lying 10th in the championship standings having enjoyed a solid season that has produced 18 top 10 finishes including two podiums.
“Even though it’s only Scott McLaughlin and Shane van Gisbergen in the hunt for the championship, there are still plenty of championship positions to be decided,” said Percat.
“The teams’ championship is really close, so it will create some really good battles out there this weekend. Everyone is looking at who they need to finish ahead of in the fight for those positions.”
“Where we finish overall sets us up for next year in pit lane, and we’re looking forward to getting back up the order.
“We’re currently in fourth with two teams close behind, and we’re ready to challenge those in the hunt! I’m looking to solidify my spot in 10th and then build on that again in 2019.”
The Coates Hire Newcastle 500 begins on Friday with opening practice scheduled for 1140 local time/AEDT.
