The Performax TA2 Muscle Car Series is set to award a unique gold ring to the winner of the championship.
The idea was conceived by Australian TA2 importer Peter Robinson before being designed by Stuart Bishop and Andrew Stott.
A competitor in drag racing, Bishop has previously designed trophies for the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.
The ring is a mixture of yellow and white gold, and sports a wheel and tyre design the same as is used in the category as its centrepiece.
“We think it's uniquely TA2,” said Bishop.
“We were very honoured to be commissioned to design and manufacture the championship ring, given our history in motorsport.
“It will be a fitting reward for a well-earned and closely-fought series title.”
A ring will be presented to 2017 series champion Russell Wright at the category's Gala Dinner in Sydney on Sunday night.
There, the 2018 champion will also receive a ring following the final round of the series at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend.
Following private practice on Friday, the series is set for qualifying and two races on Saturday followed by two races on Sunday.
