Mick Sieders has won his first ECB SuperUtes race to head home a Mitsubishi Triton one-two over stable-mate Elliot Barbour.
Sieders claimed first position at the start of the second lap to lead the race to the flag, holding on to win by less than two tenths from Barbour in the first round since his rollover at Queensland Raceway.
Matt MacKelden withstood an attack from Sieders on the opening lap, initially holding on to the lead after starting from pole.
His time out front was short lived as Sieders completed a move for the lead at Turn 1 on the second lap.
Series leader Craig Woods then also demoted MacKelden to move into third as a slew of others also found their way through on the early race leader in quick succession.
Contact for Ryal Harris on the opening lap saw the Mazda BT50 shed its bumper as he and Barbour swapped paint while squabbling over fifth place.
The damage to Harris' car worsened when the front bumper was completely shed, so too the grille to expose the radiator at the front of the ute, forcing him to box with a cooling issue at the end of Lap 5.
A leading battle group of four developed between Sieders, Woods, Barbour, and Aaron Cameron.
Contact at the final complex between Woods and Barbour saw the former shouldered aside, while Cameron also gained a place in the encounter.
Smoke and a coolant leak from Cameron's car forced the second Mazda into the lane, taking him out of contention as he eventually dragged the wounded car home 10th, one spot up from Harris who brought his car home in 11th and last.
Woods claimed third behind Barbour, with Tom Alexander fourth and MacKelden fifth.
The final 10 lap SuperUtes race of the weekend is scheduled to start at 0940 on Sunday morning.
