BMW has confirmed that Chaz Mostert will join its ranks for the Petit Le Mans IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season finale in October.
Mostert will drive for the factory supported Rahal Letterman Lanigan team where he will drive the squad’s #24 BMW M8 GTE alongside regulars Jesse Krohn and John Edwards at the Road Atlanta circuit.
The 26-year-old has received the call-up due to the event clashes for the team’s drivers Nicky Catsburg, Augusto Farfus and Tom Blomqvist.
The event will be the Supercars star’s first in America arriving just months after his European racing debut when he was selected by BMW to contest a round of the Blancpain Endurance Series at Paul Ricard in June.

It will also act as his debut in BMW’s M8 GT racer having conducted all of his sportscar exploits in the marque’s M3 GT3 car, which includes drives at the Bathurst 12 Hour, FIA GT World Cup and selected races in the Asian Le Mans Series.
Mostert will be set for a busy October with the Petit Le Mans (October 13) outing situated between the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 and Vodafone Gold Coast 600 Supercars races.
The 26-year-old is currently seventh in the Supercars standings following a fifth place finish in the inaugural Red Rooster Sydney SuperNight 300 on Saturday night.
