Valentino Rossi has revealed Yamaha will race with an unchanged bike until the MotoGP season reaches Brno in early August.
The confession comes following an unsuccessful test in Barcelona on Monday where the team trialed a number of items aimed at solving problems the YZR-M1 suffers under acceleration.
“From now to Brno, we race with the same bike,” Rossi explained.
“We had two or three small ideas, or small things that I hope can help us in the acceleration,” he added of the Barcelona test.
“Unfortunately looking at the data and everything, we are not able to go faster. It's a shame.
“But it's like this, it's not easy, it's a long work, so it's normal.
“We concentrate in other small things like this, but we don't find anything special.”
The Italian veteran is now looking to the test which follows Czech Grand Prix where it's hoped progress can be made.
“Now the next test is in Brno. Brno Monday. We hope there to find something else,” said the 39-year-old.
Yamaha has been winless since Rossi won the Dutch TT almost a year ago.
