Matt Stone Racing has confirmed it will evaluate Bryce Fullwood for its vacant Pirtek Enduro Cup co-driver seat at this weekend’s Winton SuperSprint.
The team has announced that its Dunlop Super2 driver Fullwood will step into Todd Hazelwood’s Bigmate Racing Ford Falcon FGX for the additional driver session at Winton on Friday.
Matt Stone Racing is yet to confirm its co-driver for the enduros although Speedcafe.com has been told by the outfit that it is looking for a young driver to take up the role.
Team owner Matt Stone is looking forward to seeing how the 20-year-old fares in the session.
“We look forward to having Bryce step up into Todd’s car this Friday at Winton,” said Stone.
“It is a prime opportunity to utilise one of our very own drivers to help gain knowledge about the car and hopefully set ourselves up for a positive weekend.”
“With Bryce racing a car very similar to Todd’s in the Dunlop Super2 Series, the transition phase will be minimised, which will help chassis feedback and gain a good direction for setup for the remainder of the weekend.
“Having the Additional Drivers sessions at Supercars events is a great way to promote young talent.
“After Winton we will evaluate the performance of Bryce and will have an official announcement regarding a Bigmate Racing co-driver in the coming weeks.”
Fullwood is currently racing a Ford Falcon FGX in the Dunlop Super2 Series and sits 13th in the standings.
The additional driver session will take place on Friday at 1005 AEST.
