Troy Herfoss has continued his strong form in ASBK with two wins out of three races in Round 3 at The Bend.

Wayne Maxwell (Yamaha) won Race 1 from pole position but had to fight for it when he dropped to third at the start.

Arthur Sissis (Suzuki) shot from the third row to the lead but didn’t last there long as Troy Bayliss (Ducati) and Maxwell took over at the front.

Maxwell made the decisive move on Lap 4 while Bayliss finished runner-up and Herfoss (Honda) salvaged third after a problem at the start which saw him drop to 10th.

In Race 2, Herfoss again lost ground at the start but this time only as far as fourth.

He passed initial leader Maxwell on Lap 6 and went on to edge a fast-finishing Bryan Staring (Kawasaki) at the chequered flag.

Herfoss backed up with another win in Race 3 despite a serious challenge from Daniel Falzon (Yamaha).

Falzon briefly led before the race was cut short due to a crash for Bayliss.

Herfoss’ results mean that he has extended his championship lead as Maxwell moved into second on the ladder.

Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin will host Round 4 of the YMI Australian Superbike Championship on June 28-July 1.
