Veteran Formula 1 racer Rubens Barrichello has been hospitalised following a health scare last week.
The former Ferrari and Williams driver was taken to hospital after complaining of a headache, the 45-year-old sharing a video on social media to reassure fans of his condition.
“On Saturday I decided to wake up and have a shower. I felt a terrible headache,” Barrichello said.
“Luckily, my wife was there and she called a friend doctor who took me to the hospital, they they took really good care of me.
“I had a small problem on a vein, but I want to tell you that I am feeling great,” he added.
“I am still going through exams and so on, but I am honestly great and the difficulties in life are the ones who show us how to grow and how to be better.”
Barrichello, who won 11 times in a career that spanned 326 grands prix, retired from the sport at the end of the 2011 season.
He’s since competed in IndyCar and the Stock Car Brasil series, ending the 2016 season second overall with three race wins.
