The Bend Motorsport Park hosted its first event at the facility with the opening day of the Revolve24 cycling event at the Tailem Bend venue.
The two-day bicycle event began on Saturday morning, the first competition on the new circuit the South Australian Penny Farthing Championship.
A host of other cycling events throughout the day culminated with the beginning of a 24 hour race that ends on Sunday evening.
It provided the first opportunity for the public to view The Bend Motorsport Park facility, which is nearing completion.
Laying of the track surface has been completed, and the pit complex is also operational.
Doused in rain during the day, the brand new track surface proved fast drying as a strong wind blew down the front straight.
Some amenities are still to be finished including toilet blocks and showers, while the carpark and paddock hardstand area still to have tarmac laid.
The Bend will host its first motorsport event in April with the opening round of the Shannons Nationals, with Australian GT set to use the full 7.7km circuit, before the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship visits in August.
