Aaron Seton set for Kumho V8 return

Aaron Seton will pilot a Ford Falcon BF in the Kumho V8 Touring Car Series

Aaron Seton has confirmed plans to contest the third round of the Kumho V8 Touring Car Series at Queensland Raceway next weekend.

The son of two-time Australian Touring Car champion, Glenn Seton, will once again pilot a Ford Falcon BF owned by Rod Dawson in the third tier Supercars series.

The series will support the Coates Hire Ipswich Super Sprint round of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship held from July 28-30.

Seton made his Supercar racing debut in the category at Winton in May which came to an abrupt end following a collision on the opening lap of the first of three heats.

However, the 19-year-old is looking forward to another outing having already driven the car at Queensland Raceway, courtesy of a test at the venue in March.

“It’s great to get back out there after my run at Winton,” Seton told Speedcafe.com.

“I’m really looking forward to it, I can’t think my sponsors enough for helping me get there.

“Going into Winton we hadn’t done any laps around there, so it was a bit challenging with practice being in the wet and then qualifying in the dry.

“But with QR we have done a few laps around there so I’m really looking forward to see how we go.”

Seton, who is also competing in the Toyota 86 Racing Series this year, says the drive is a one-off at this stage.

The teenager will join Dunlop Super2 Series driver Anton de Pasquale and former V8 Utes driver Nandi Kiss, who have both confirmed drives in the series this week.
