Shane van Gisbergen shows Verstappen the ropes

Red Bull Formula 1 star Max Verstappen has been introduced to Supercar for the first time at the Australian Grand Prix.

The Red Bull Holden Racing Team welcomed the talented 19-year-old in the garage at Albert Park to sample the cockpit of its Commodore race car.

Drivers Jamie Whincup and Shane van Gisbergen talked Verstappen through the intricacies of the Triple Eight Commodore.

Verstappen’s introduction to a Supercar arrives a year after his team-mate Daniel Ricciardo sampled Triple Eight’s Sandman car, which is based around a Supercar chassis, at Sandown Raceway.
