Former Aussie Racing Cars competitor Zakkary Best will contest the CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship with AGI Sport.
The 15-year-old from Victoria joins the Sydney-based squad who will also field cars for Sage Murdoch and fellow Aussie Racing Cars graduate Harley Haber.
Best has emerged as a rising star after becoming the youngest driver to contest the Aussie Racing Cars series last year.
He scored a victory at Phillip Island on his way to 12th in the standings.
New to single seaters, Best completed a maiden run in the Mygale Formula 4 car at Wakefield Park last week to assist his transition to the category.
“I’m really excited about joining the team and I’m looking forward to learning this season,” said Best.
“Wakefield is a technical and challenging track and I had to work hard to get a fast lap.
“I had to focus hard on braking and applying enough pressure and I’m still coming to terms with this.
“The braking point in the F4 is way later than any other race car I have driven.”
The Australian Formula 4 Championship begins with a double round at Sandown Raceway from April 7-9.
