Preston Hire Racing reveals Holdsworth Commodore

Preston Hire Racing’s new look Holden Commodore for Lee Holdsworth
Preston Hire Racing has uncovered its striking livery to be campaigned in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship at its new workshop in Mount Waverley.
Lee Holdsworth will continue to pilot the #18 Preston Hire Holden Commodore which features a new eye catching yellow and black colour scheme and continued backing from oil supplier Fuchs.
The Charlie Schwerkolt-owned team has also confirmed that former Supercars full-timer Karl Reindler has been retained as Holdsworth’s co-driver for the upcoming Pirtek Enduro Cup campaign.
In addition to the operation’s new workshop, the engineering department has been boosted by the signing of former Dick Johnson Racing, Erebus Motorsport and Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport employee Chris Stuckey.

Stuckey will take the role of head engineer working under team manager Jeff Grech.
Holdsworth is confident his team will offer a much stronger proposition this season after last year’s campaign was blighted by a crash at Darwin that sidelined the 34-year-old for three months.
He returned to competitive action at last year’s Wilson Security Sandown 500 after recovering from a fractured pelvis, two broken ribs and knee ligament damage.
“It’s great to reveal the car with the team and all of our sponsors,” said Holdsworth.
“The yellow is seriously bright and looks awesome.
“It won’t be hard to spot the Preston Hire car on track.
“I’m excited about the Clipsal 500 in just a few weeks after a long off-season.
“We’ve worked extremely hard to come back as a much stronger force for 2017.”
Delighted by the look of his new Commodore, Schwerkolt also paid tribute to the way his team has created a new state-of-the-art workshop during the off-season.
“The car looks amazing and I think it is the sharpest looking car for 2017,” added Schwerkolt.
“It has been a massive six week turn around from an empty factory to a new state-of-the-art facility right at my head office in Mount Waverley.
“We are so excited to go racing at Clipsal and I think we are in for a good year.
The team will welcome additional backing from new sponsors OnePure Natural Artesian Water, Credence Insurance Brokers and P1 Racewear in 2017.
Holdsworth will jump behind the wheel of the Commodore on Tuesday at the offical tyre test at Sydney Motorsport Park.
