Young Gold Coast racer Jack Smith will dovetail drives for Brad Jones Racing in the Dunlop Super2 and the Kumho V8 Touring Car Series.

Smith is tackling both championships with the support of family company SCT logistics on his Dunlop Super2 and Kumho Series entries.

SCT is an Australia-owned private company established in 1974 by Peter Smith which deals in multi-modal transport and logistics concerns.

After doing a rookie evaluation day in September with Paul Morris Motorsport, Jack had a difficult initiation his Dunlop Series debut when he crashed out early in the 250km race.

He had previously contested the Australian Formula 4 Championship and experienced success in the Australian GT Trophy Series in the MARC class.

Smith completed a further rookie day with the BJR team in December where he was able to become acclimatised in one of the next gen Supercars.

“I’m excited to get into the year ahead, running in two categories will be great for my learning and development,” Smith said.

“It was great to get that experience in the car, get a few laps in and get comfortable with the car.

“The two test days planned for today and tomorrow will be awesome, I know I’ll get a lot out of the days then we’ll be counting down to Clipsal.”

Team Boss Brad Jones commented: “I feel Jack is a very exciting, young prospect for BJR.

“Stepping up into the Dunlop Super2 from any class is a big step, which is why I think it will be beneficial for him to do the Kumho V8 Touring Car Series in the same season.”
