Aussie Racing Cars will run with Kumho tyres in a multi-year deal from this season.

The Kumho control tyres represents the first time in almost 20 years the ARC has introduced a new tyre to the class.

A group of teams are said to have been impressed with the new Kumho V700 tyre after pre-season tests ahead of the Championship opening round at the Clipsal 500 from March 2-5.

“As part of the continual development of the category, it was time to explore other tyre options,” category manager Brad Ward said.

“After extensive testing of various products the Kumho V700 has been selected as we believe it is the best product on the market.

“We are very excited about having Kumho on board and can’t wait for a huge future partnership of Aussie Racing Cars competition with Kumho”.

Kumho Tyre Australia’s Rachael Sinai said the ARC forms a key part of Kumho’s Motorsports strategy.

“Kumho is proud to be closely aligned with the Aussie Racing Cars and we are very pleased to expand our tarmac motorsports presence this year and see a huge long-term future with the fantastic ARC teams, drivers and management.

Kumho will be at every ARC event to support the 40-plus car fields with tyre fitting and advice services and the Kumho branding will be featured on the front bumper of all Aussie Racing Cars on track.
