Experienced campaigner David Wall has announced a return to the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship in 2017.
Following his return full-time to the one-make Championship last year, Wall is keen to continue after a competitive run in 2016.
In Wall's first full season back in a Cup car since 2008, he finished third behind the young star Matt Campbell and Alex Davison.
“It is really good to come back after a huge learning year last year for both myself and Wall Racing,” Wall said.
“To have finished third in the Championship in our first year back was very satisfying.
“Most teams already had a few years of running the new Porsche under their belt, but we persevered and the results came.
“We had a really good run of podium finishes including a race win in the second half of the season.”
Since finishing the season on the Gold Coast in October last year, the team has been busily preparing the car another another campaign starting at the Clipsal 500 from March 2-5.
“Wall Racing has done some work on the car already, and between now and Clipsal we will have at least one test day to ensure we are ready for the new season.”
“To say I am looking forward to getting back in the #38 Porsche is a huge understatement – Clipsal can't come round quick enough!”
Speedcafe.com understands up to 18 entires are confirmed for the 2017 Championship which is a transition year ahead of an all-new Cup car coming next year.
