Erebus confirms engineer for Dale Wood

Erebus Motorsport has confirmed that Mirko De Rosa will engineer team newcomer Dale Wood for the 2017 Virgin Australian Supercars season.

Wood was announced late last year as moving to Erebus after his seat at Nissan was taken by Simona de Silvestro from 2017.

Returning for a second year with the Commodore squad, De Rosa has been elevated into the race engineering role.

“It’s a great opportunity and I’m really excited about it,” De Rosa said.

“I learnt a lot last year and it was great working with Dave (Reynolds) I think Dale will be very similar and I’m looking forward to building a relationship with him.”

Alistair McVean remains as David Reynolds’ engineer after the pair finished with a solid third in Race 29 to close the 2016 season at Sydney Olympic Park.

“I think the results at the end of last year were very positive,” McVean said.

“We were able to get on a good development path with Dave and gradually move our way up the grid; we had a few ups and downs but it was on an upwards trend.”

General Manager of Motorsport, Barry Ryan, is confident of building on the promise shown last season.

“Our priority is to continue that momentum in 2017,” Ryan said.

“We have a great team and are all working together to ensure both cars are up the front.”
