Greg Murphy unveils Holden NZ rally car

Retired Supercars driver Greg Murphy has uncovered a freshly built Holden Barina AP4 class rally car which he will campaign in the New Zealand Championship.
Unveiling the Barina at Hampton Downs, Murphy took the machine for a blast around the circuit’s skid pan.
Murphy, a four-times Bathurst 1000 winner, had previously announced last year that he will contest the NZ Rally Championship in his home country.
He will form part of a two-car Barina squad alongside top Canterbury rally driver Josh Marston.
“I’ve enjoyed many victories here at Hampton Downs and would like to think a little of the same success might rub off on my new endeavour,” Murphy, who dipped his toes in rallying last year, said.
“I’ve been interested in rallying for a number of years, and the launch of the new-look model year 2017 Barina in Holden showrooms, complete with its new front fascia, grille and rear fascia, is the perfect time for me to get behind the wheel of the new car.”
The racer-turned Fox Sports Supercars pitlane reporter will combine with co-driver Mark Leonard in the AP4 pocket rocket that will carry his trademark #51.
The six-round Brian Green Property Group NZRC starts with the iconic Otago Rally based in Dunedin from April 8-9.
