Felipe Massa is set to undergo a test with the Jaguar Formula E squad.
The Brazilian previously indicated wishes to experience the electric single seater series shortly after announcing his retirement from Formula 1 at the end of last season.
In an unexpected twist Massa has since been lured back to F1 by signing a one-year deal to replace Valtteri Bottas at Williams following his move to Mercedes.
Still keen to evaluate his options for a future career outside of F1, the Panasonic Jaguar team has now confirmed it has received a request from Massa to test one of its cars.
The British marque entered the category this year with Kiwi Mitch Evans and Northern Irishman Adam Carroll.
“Panasonic Jaguar Racing received a request from Formula E to give Felipe Massa the chance to experience a Formula E car,” read a statement from the team.
“We are happy to provide this opportunity.”
British publication Autosport has reported the test will take place this week at an unknown location.
