Felipe Massa is set to undergo a test with the Jaguar Formula E squad.

The Brazilian previously indicated wishes to experience the electric single seater series shortly after announcing his retirement from Formula 1 at the end of last season.

In an unexpected twist Massa has since been lured back to F1 by signing a one-year deal to replace Valtteri Bottas at Williams following his move to Mercedes.

Still keen to evaluate his options for a future career outside of F1, the Panasonic Jaguar team has now confirmed it has received a request from Massa to test one of its cars.

The British marque entered the category this year with Kiwi Mitch Evans and Northern Irishman Adam Carroll.

“Panasonic Jaguar Racing received a request from Formula E to give Felipe Massa the chance to experience a Formula E car,” read a statement from the team.

“We are happy to provide this opportunity.”

British publication Autosport has reported the test will take place this week at an unknown location. comment policy reserves the right to remove comments that are off-topic, abusive and ban users who do not follow the comment policy. Please read our Comment Policy before commenting.
