Ganassi announces GearWrench on NASCAR team

Jamie McMurray’s #1 Ganassi Chevrolet gains GearWrench backing in a multi-year arrangement from 2017
Chip Ganassi Racing has confirmed that Jamie McMurray’s #1 Chevrolet will be supported by GearWrench in a multi-year arrangement for its leading NASCAR Sprint Cup team.
From next season the tool brand will be the primary backer on McMurray’s charge for four races after confirmation came at Las Vegas’ showcase SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show.
With GearWrench equipment already used on the #1 Chevrolet, the company has decided to make its biggest investment in stock car racing and most significant marketing outlay.
“This is the biggest announcement in the history of the GearWrench brand and a significant marketing investment that will deliver significant growth in sales and market share,” John Constantine, president of GearWrench’s North American Hand Tools, Apex Tool Group, said.
“We are thrilled to be taking GearWrench to the next level by partnering with Chip Ganassi Racing and their top mechanics in 2017.”
The 2010 Daytona 500 winner McMurray said the deal could not be a better fit for the team.
“It’s wonderful that a new brand recognises the value of NASCAR,” McMurray said.
“And when you’re talking about a tool, there’s really no better fit than a race team and NASCAR being the most popular form of racing in America makes that a really easy tie-in.”
The 2017 livery on the #1 Chevrolet will mirror the look of GearWrench distribution fleet vehicles in the Charlotte, New Hampshire, Richmond and Dover rounds.
GearWrench equipment is also used in industrial and aerospace work as well as in technical education.
