Aussie F1 fans arrested for stripping in Malaysia
A group of Australian Formula 1 fans have been arrested in Malaysia for allegedly stripping down to their underwear following Daniel Ricciardo’s victory at Sepang.
Sepang police chief Abdul Aziz Ali told Malaysian press that nine intoxicated Australians aged between 25-29 stripped down to their briefs in full view of grand prix spectators on Sunday.
Ali went on to say that the fans were wearing underwear displaying the Malaysian flag.
The group of fans will be held until Friday while they are investigated for public indecency, and possibly disrespecting the Malaysian flag.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has confirmed the nine arrested supporters are receiving assistance.
