Marquez cleared for qualifying after injury scare

Marc Marquez
Marc Marquez has received medical clearance to compete in qualifying for the Austrian Grand Prix after a brief visit to hospital to examine a dislocated shoulder.
The MotoGP championship leader sustained the injury following a heavy fall at Turn 3 in the early stages of Practice 3 at the Red Bull Ring.
Marquez visited the circuit’s medical centre before being taken to the nearby Leoben hospital for precautionary checks on the injury.
The Honda rider has since been given the all-clear to take part in qualifying.
“It has only been a fright! All is OK!,” tweeted Marquez following the hospital visit.
MotoGP qualifying is scheduled to begin at 2210 AEST.
