Ericsson receives all-clear for British GP

Marcus Ericsson will compete in Sunday’s British Grand Prix after receiving medical clearance from the FIA.
The Sauber driver’s participation at Silverstone had been in doubt after being transferred to hospital for precautionary checks following a nasty crash in Saturday’s final practice.
After escaping the crash unscathed, Ericsson was discharged from hospital on Saturday evening.
The 25-year-old required clearance from the FIA’s medical delegate in order to jump back behind the wheel of his Sauber.
“Following a medical examination undertaken this morning at the Silverstone Circuit Medical Centre, the FIA has cleared Sauber F1 Team driver Marcus Ericsson to take part in today’s British Grand Prix,” read a statement from the FIA.
Having missed qualifying, Ericsson will be allowed to start from the rear of the grid in his rebuilt Sauber C35.
