The Australian Grand Prix Corporation has honoured Daniel Ricciardo by naming a grandstand after him at the Albert Park Circuit.

The AGPC has confirmed that the Turn 4 grandstand will now be known as the The Ricciardo Premium Grandstand with the announcement arriving on the Red Bull driver’s birthday.

“Having a grandstand named after me is definitely the ultimate birthday present and an incredible privilege,” said Ricciardo, who turns 27 today.

“Hopefully turn four will be my best corner on the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit.”

Ricciardo joins a list of Formula 1 seats to have grandstands name after them at the venue including Sir Jack Brabham, Jim Clark, Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, Alan Jones and Michael Schumacher.

“What better way to honour Australian Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo on his birthday than giving him his very own grandstand,” said Australian Grand Prix Corporation CEO, Andrew Westacott.

“It is just metres from the action with superior views of turns three, four and five.”

Tickets for the Ricciardo Premium Grandstand go on sale today.
