Three V8 Supercars drivers have received fines following the opening day of track action at the ITM 500 Auckland.

The list of punishments is headed by a $5,000 fine to Ash Walsh for performing a practice start during the afternoon’s meeting rides session.

As was the case for Marcos Ambrose’s similar infringement at Sandown, $2,500 has been suspended until the end of the current year.

Dale Wood has meanwhile been docked $1,000 for failing to slow under yellow flags in the second session.

Wood arrived on the scene of Jason Bright’s Turn 3 crash at high speed, but managed to avoid joining his Brad Jones Racing team-mate in the barriers.

Nick Percat completed the day’s list of offenders, receiving a pair of $350 fines for exceeding the 40km/h speed limit at pit entry. comment policy
