Leading international karting competitors have arrived on the Gold Coast ahead of the Race of Stars powered by SuperFest event at Pimpama this weekend.
Five-time world champion Davide Forè, New Zealander Daniel Bray and Dutchman Marijn Kremers will do battle against a hot field at the Extreme Karting facility.
“I’m really looking forward to putting on a good show at this weekend’s event,” Fore said.
Bray says clocking 160km/h against the best karters in the world is easier than competing at club level.
“(Racing at the high speeds) is probably easier than doing it with your club racer guys,” Bray said.
“As Haysey (Chris Hays) and I found out last year you can touch and get away with it because you’ve got confidence in the guys around you.”
After finishing fifth last year Kremers hopes to take home the winner’s surfboard.
The event will begin tomorrow with practice, qualifying and the opening races before continuing from 9:00am local time on Saturday.
The Xtreme Karting Facility is located on Pimpama-Jacobs Well Road, Pimpama, with admission free for spectators.
