Steven Johnson and Aaron Seton will take to the Mount Panorama Circuit to showcase Toyota's new 86 Racing Series later today.
A full national series is planned for the two-door coupes in 2016, supporting the V8 Supercars Championship.
The 41-year-old Johnson and 17-year-old Seton have both been earmarked as candidates for two of the guest drives that Toyota will offer to ‘professionals' and ‘rising stars' next year.
Five ‘Pro/Rising Star' entries will feature different guests at each event to race against a maximum field of 27 amateurs.
The technical package for the series has been developed by Neal Bates Motorsport, featuring a 200bhp racing tuned version of the road car's 2.0 litre boxer engine.
The race cars will run on a treaded Dunlop tyre and are expected to lap Mount Panorama in the 2:30s range.
Toyota has partnered with Neil Crompton's Air Time Autosport to administer the series, with Phil Harrison appointed category manager.
A final calendar is yet to be confirmed, but is expected to include five V8 Supercars meetings, including those at Sydney Motorsport Park, Sandown, Bathurst and Sydney Olympic Park.
Johnson and Seton will enjoy a 10 minute run in the cars at Bathurst from 1710 this afternoon.
