John Bowe overcame a determined Eddie Abelnica to continue his winning ways in the Touring Car Masters at Sydney Motorsport Park.
The second race of the weekend was held in greasy conditions, with light rain falling through the majority of the eight laps.
Starting on the outside of the front-row, Abelnica's Ford Falcon surged to the lead into Turn 1 ahead of Bowe's smaller engined pole-sitting Holden Torana.
Abelnica's lead lasted little more than a lap, however, before Bowe scythed down the inside at Turn 2 on the second tour.
The race was processional up front from there as Bowe went on to score the win in what has been billed as his 1000th career start in national and international level competition.
Abelnica, Neil Crompton, Jason Gomersall, Mark King, Tony Karanfilovski and Glenn Seton filled second through seventh at the flag.
Starting third, Seton slipped down the order in the opening stages and spent the remainder trying unsuccessfully to make it back around Karanfilovski's Mustang.
A third and final race will complete Round 6 of the TCM later this afternoon.
