Trass Ferrari stripped of Phillip Island podium

Trass Family Motorsport has been stripped of its podium finish at the Australian GT Championship Phillip Island 101.
The #27 Ferrari 458, driven by Kiwi duo Jono Lester and Graeme Smyth, finished the three hour endurance in third having led the majority of the contest from pole position.
However, it is understood officials have hit the team with a 34 second time penalty for overtaking under yellow flags demoting Lester and Smyth to fifth position.
“Well, it’s been a day alright. We finished third on track, but had the result taken away when Graeme (Smyth) was pinged for a pass under yellow flags. I’m walking away proud of the job we did,” said Lester.
As a result, Maranello Motorsport’s Tony D’Alberto and Grant Denyer have been promoted to third position.
