Ash Walsh’s Erebus Mercedes V8 Supercar will carry support for the Starlight Foundation at the upcoming Perth Super Sprint.

The charity branding comes as Erebus continues to search for a title sponsor for the #4 entry, which has not had a full-time primary backer since Irwin departed at the end of 2013.

The Starlight Foundation has been operating for more than 30 years, aiming to provide positive experiences for seriously ill children.

The start of the Barbagallo meeting on May 1 coincides with its annual Starlight Day push.

Erebus will host a Starlight child on the Sunday at Barbagallo as part of its continued support for the charity.

“Last year we hosted a young lady named Temeley, who sat in my chair for the day in the garage and had a great time, so I’m sure we can create another memorable experience for a lucky child and their family this year,’’ said team owner Betty Klimenko.

“The Starlight Children’s Foundation does some amazing work throughout Australia and this is our way of recognising that as well as helping to promote Starlight Day.”

The car will be on track tomorrow at Queensland Raceway as Walsh utilises a test day allocated due to his rookie status.

“Perth has been a happy hunting ground for me in the past so fingers crossed that continues next weekend,” he said.

“And if we can help put a smile on one lucky child’s face over the weekend, then we’ve helped make a difference.”
