POLL: When will Ambrose return to V8 racing?

Marcos Ambrose’s shock decision to step out of the V8 Supercars Championship just two events into his comeback season has left its fair share of burning questions.
The move has been explained by the driver and DJR Team Penske as a “selfless decision” aimed at speeding up the squad’s progress after Ambrose struggled to adapt back from nine years away in NASCAR.
The team announced last week that the former two-time champion will be replaced by Scott Pye at the upcoming Symmons Plains event following a request from Ambrose to be “temporarily relieved”.
The statement also said that Ambrose will “continue to support the team and our partners including competing in the Endurance Series Races (Pirtek Enduro Cup)”, which begins with the Sandown 500 in September.

There are six events between Symmons Plains and Sandown at which Ambrose could theoretically get back behind the wheel, starting with Barbagallo on May 1-3.
Team Penske president Tim Cindric last week dismissed suggestions that Ambrose is finished with the category completely, but admitted that “only time will tell” when the scenario is right for the driver to return.
