Volvo Polestar Racing has officially confirmed the signing of David Wall to its second Wilson Security backed S60 in next year’s V8 Supercars Championship.

As previously reported, Wall has secured the seat courtesy of sponsors Wilson and Payce Consolidated, which are long-time backers of the second-generation racer.

The sponsors move with Wall from Dick Johnson Racing, which now appears set to scale back to a single car.

Wall steps into the #34 Volvo in place of Robert Dahlgren, who heads back to his native Sweden after a rough single season in the Australian championship.

“I cannot begin to tell you how eager I am to join Volvo Polestar Racing for the 2015 V8 Supercars season,” said Wall.

“I am really impressed with how they came out of the box this year in what was a stellar debut season for the team.

“I feel that this is a massive opportunity and I hope to be able to add to the results the team and my new team-mate, Scott McLaughlin, have achieved in 2014. Bring on the test day(s) at Sydney Motorsport Park.”

Rogers stressed that the Volvo S60 package, which has been taken to four race wins by Scott McLaughlin this year, will allow Wall to show his full potential.

The veteran team owner has had to top up his team’s budget this year as it ran without a bonnet sponsor for much of the season.

“I spent some time racing alongside David’s dad, Des,” said Rogers.

“If David shows the same tenacity and determination his father exhibited I’m sure he will have success at GRM.

“Obviously it’s a challenge for David and our team, but I take notice of all drivers in the V8 Supercars Championship and David has shown ability.

“I am confident we will provide him with a car that will enable him to illustrate his potential.”

Wall sits 21st in the V8 Supercars points standings heading to the season finale at Sydney Olympic Park.

Prior to joining DJR, the now 31-year-old spent two years in Brad Jones Racing’s third car, recording 25th and 21st placed results in the 2012 and 2013 championships respectively.
