California racer, Kyle Hirst has announced he will join forces with Monte Motorsport for the upcoming World Series Sprintcars campaign.
He becomes the first American of the announced contracted drivers so far and will take up the Milwaukee Powertools supported seat vacated by Shane Stewart.
He'll arrive in Australia with the ‘King of the West' Title under his belt in America and last summer took out the Victorian Championship when he visited for a limited campaign.
Well respected wrenchman, Kim ‘Buzzy' Buswell will spanner the Monte car, which excites the American livewire.
“I am excited to be working with Buzzy and to be part of such a well respected team like Monte Motorsports,” said Hirst. “I will be visiting a lot of tracks new to me this season and it is going to be cool, I am really looking forward to it.”
The Monte team is renowned as one of the most professional outfits in the country and the addition of Hirst out on the Australian World Series trail for the first time will no doubt bring plenty of interest to the team.
Hirst joins Australian Champion, David Murcott, Mark House, Brent Aprile, South Aussie Matt Egel and Dylan Jenkin as those already signed to the campaign this summer.
World Series Sprintcars begins on Boxing Night (December 26) at Adelaide's Speedway City.
