Former long serving V8 Supercars manager Kurt Sakzewski has been confirmed as the Porsche Cars Australia Motorsport Manager.
Sakzewski will replace Cameron McConville who will vacate the position on October 31.
As previously reported, McConville has decided to take up a newly created role of motorsport development general manager at CAMS.
“I would like to personally thank Cam for his commitment and the valuable contribution he has made to all PCA Motorsport activities over the last 12 months,” PCA director of PR and Motorsport Paul Ellis said.
“Cam leaves us of his own choosing to pursue other opportunities in motorsport management and we wish him well.”
Sakzewski hails from a motor racing family who were responsible for establishing the famed Lakeside International Raceway, north of Brisbane more than 50 years ago.
Garnering a strong reputation in the sport over the last decade, Sakzewski was the V8 Supercars Motorsport manager from 2005-2010 and the category Events manager from 2010 to 2014.
“In the course of his time with V8 Supercars Kurt was responsible for key commercial and logistical elements of the series, including stakeholder relations with commercial partners and relevant organisers and governing bodies,” Ellis said.
“ Kurt has a sound knowledge of motorsport operations and excellent stakeholder management skills.
“These attributes will assist Porsche Motorsport in achieving its goals and raising the standards – especially for our valued Porsche Motorsport customers across all categories where they take their Porsche race cars to the track.”
