Stewart to miss second NASCAR Sprint Cup race

Tony Stewart will be replaced by Jeff Burton at Michigan this weekend
Tony Stewart will miss the Sprint Cup series round at Michigan this weekend.
The three-time Sprint Cup champion Stewart will be replaced by Jeff Burton in the #14 Chevrolet.
Although Burton is only confirmed for Michigan, it remains unclear over future plans for the Stewart-Haas Chevrolet for the balance of the races before The Chase begins on September 14.
Stewart withdrew from the Watkins Glen race last weekend after he was involved in the accident where young sprint car driver Kevin Ward jr was killed in a low key race at the Canandaigua Motorsports Park in upstate New York.
Although not at this time subject to criminal charges, the police investigation into the tragedy is continuing.
It will be Burton’s third start this season after having two starts for Michael Waltrip Racing at Las Vegas and New Hampshire.
The funeral service for Ward jr was held at his high school, South Lewis Central in New York state, on Thursday.
