New Zealander Earl Bamber moved to second in the Porsche Supercup standings after a battling drive to third at Silverstone.
Despite starting from eighth on the grid, the Kiwi showed his class as he fought his way through the field to finish third behind race winner Clemens Schmid and championship leader Kuba Giermaziak.
“That was a great race and I'm very happy with the overall outcome,” said Bamber.
Bamber is now just 13 points behind Giermaziak in the championship standings ahead of round five at Germany's Hockenheim circuit on July 18-20.
Formula 3 Zandvoort Masters
Rising single seater star Max Verstappen produced a faultless drive to win the Zandvoort Masters Formula 3 invitational race.
The teenage son of former F1 driver Jos Verstappen completed a dominant lights-to-flag victory at the Dutch venue driving for Motopark.
Verstappen's victory comes after his father won the prestigious race back in 1993.
Van Amersfoort racer Jules Szymkowiak trailed Verstappen by six seconds at the flag, while Steijn Schothorst secured the final spot on the podium.
However, a post race 20 second time penalty issued to Szymkowiak for avoidable contact with Sam McLeod saw him demoted to fifth.
Schothorst inherited second with third going to Nabil Jeffri.
Blancpain Sprint Series
Rene Rast and Enzo Ide secured victory in a rain interrupted main race in the Blancpain Sprint Series at Zandvoort.
The WRT Audi pair had held third after the opening stint of the race by Ide before Rast took charge of the race.
A brief rain shower allowed Rast, who had quickly moved into second, to chase down the leading HTP Motorsport Mercedes of Maximilian Buhk.
With just 20 minutes of the race remaining, he took the lead which he held up to the chequered flag despite coming under severe pressure from the Schubert BMW of Dominik Baumann and Thomas Jager.
Robert Renauer and Jaap van Lagen claimed the final podium spot after Buhk suffered a spin leaving him in fourth.
Grasser Lamborghini's Jeroen Bleekemolen and Hari Proczyk just held off a charging Buhk to win the earlier qualifying race.
