Moto3 rider Jack Miller is setting his sights on a return to the podium in Assen after his Red Bull KTM squad made significant ground in testing last week.
The 19-year-old Queenslander heads to the famous Dutch venue this weekend with renewed confidence following a positive two day test at Spain’s Motorland Aragon circuit.
A chatter issue hampered the Moto3 championship leader in Barcelona two weeks ago with the Townsville rider finishing fourth after qualifying only ninth. This result followed a retirement at Italy’s Mugello circuit.
However, Miller revealed his team spent the majority of the test working on the chatter issue, which he believes has yielded encouraging results.
“During the last two races we’ve suffered a bit of chatter, which we had never had before, so the two days were perfect for trying to fix this issue,” said Miller.
“Honestly, we made significant progress and have a good path to continue working along.
“Assen is a fast track with flowing corners, favouring my riding style.
“After two races without doing so, I hope to return to the podium to consolidate my lead in the overall standings.”
Miller holds a seven point lead over rival Romano Fenati in the Moto3 championship standings ahead of this weekend’s eight round of the championship.
