Marc Marquez continues domination in testing

MotoGP superstar Marc Marquez has recorded the fastest time in testing as the Repsol Honda team continue to wield its superiority over the field.

Marquez recorded a 1:38.737s lap to top the test at Jerez a day after he hoisted his fourth successive win at the Spanish track.

The Spaniard turned 55 laps around the 4.4km circuit trying different rear suspension settings as well as electronic and geometry tweaks.

Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha) was second fastest .262s off the benchmark lap as the Spaniard tested a new swingarm.

Valentino Rossi was third fastest on his Yamaha YZR-M1 which has recently incorporated a new chassis.

Dani Pedrosa was fourth fastest on the other Repsol Honda, .640s off his team-mate.

Michele Pirro was charged with the duty of doing the Ducati work in place of Andrea Dovizioso and Cal Crutchlow.

Nicky Hayden (Drive M7 Aspar) was also an absentee after suffering from a severely swollen wrist from the race the day before.
