Jim Beam adorns new Bottle-O Ford
David Reynolds’ 2014 The Bottle-O Racing FPR Falcon will carry major branding from bourbon giant Jim Beam.
The former Dick Johnson Racing sponsor replaces Canadian Club as the bonnet sponsor of the #55 Falcon.
The 2014 season marks the fifth year that The Bottle-O has sponsored the Rod Nash Racing-entered Falcon.
Reynolds is returning for a third season having signed a fresh deal last year and is expecting big results following a maiden victory at October’s Gold Coast 600.
“We had awesome pace in the second half of last season so I plan to continue that from the start of this year,” said Reynolds.
“Initially I felt the off-season came just as I was hitting my straps but on reflection the time off was good as I will need all my energy for the busy year ahead.
“I know I definitely need to perform at a high level, be on the podium and on pole more often and win more races. I need to be on it so to speak at every race meeting.
“Our success will also depend on how other teams have progressed in the off-season but I think our pace at the end of 2013 bodes well for how we start this year so I have no reason not to think we will be in contention.”
Nash, who is a co-owner of FPR as well as the sole owner of the #55 license, added that the Gold Coast result proved Reynolds’ potential.
“Dave has huge potential but we’ve made it very clear to him that we need a lot more of that Gold Coast level of activity throughout the season,” Nash said.
“I think the last two years he has been doing too much teasing of the team and his fans with his performances.
“Bathurst 2012 was the first example and last year he gained a handful of front row qualifying positions before the Gold Coast where he finally won.
“He made that race look like a walk in the park with pole and the win whereas in reality that performance came at one of the hardest circuits we race on.
“It showed he has the ability to do the job so he’s cooked his goose as he’s shown he can do it on one of the biggest stages.”
