The #5 Melbourne Performance Centre Audi has been withdrawn from the Bathurst 12 Hour after a big accident for Jason Bright in qualifying.

The left-hand side of the R8 made heavy contact with the right-side wall at Reid Park after Bright lost control on his first flying lap.

The team had initially hoped to fix the Skwirk-backed entry before discovering the full extent of the damage.

Bright was taken to Bathurst hospital for a precautionary MRI scan after being momentarily knocked out by the severity of the hit.

The #5 Audi is the third car to be withdrawn from the weekend after just five track sessions.

The #49 Vicious Rumour Racing Ferrari received weekend-ending damage after a three-wide collision with the #77 AF Corse Ferrari and #71 Equity-One Audi in Practice 1.

A high-speed crash on Conrod Straight subsequently claimed the #68 Motorsport Services Porsche in Practice 2.
