Bernie Ecclestone bribery case set for April
F1 overlord Bernie Ecclestone’s trial over bribery allegations has been set for April 24 by a German Court.
The trial could stretch until September and will include up to 26 hearing days.
News.com.au reports that the 83-year-old Ecclestone is alleged to have given a German bank a $49million kickback to ensure the sale of the F1 business went to a buyer whom he had favoured.
BayernLB bank risk officer Gerhard Gribkowsky is serving eight-and-a-half years jail for accepting the bribe from Briton’s F1 boss.
