McLaren will unveil its new 2014 Formula One car via an online launch on January 24.

The Woking outfit are one of three teams to announce their launch plans along with Mercedes, who plan to roll out their car at the first official pre-season test at Jerez starting on January 28.

Lotus has delayed the launch of its 2014 E22 chassis until prior to the start of the second test at Bahrain on February 19.

McLaren is the only team so far to announce intentions to launch its new MP4-29 car to the public prior to the first four day pre-season test in Spain.

The new MP4-29, which will be uncovered in an exclusive online launch, is expected to garner massive interest following a hugely disappointing 2013 campaign.

The iconic squad failed to score a podium or a victory throughout last season in what was one of the team’s worst campaigns on record.

Drivers Jenson Button and new recruit Kevin Magnussen, son of former F1 driver Jan Magnussen, will pilot the MP4-29 this year.

Along with the all new 1.6litre turbo-charged V6 engines and an eight-speed gearbox introduced as part of F1’s new 2014 regulations, McLaren ends its association with Mercedes this season.

Japanese giant Honda will power the team from 2015 onwards in a renewal of a combination which rose to mesmeric heights at the hands of Ayrton Senna.

The first pre-season test held at former grand prix venue Jerez will take place from January 28-31.
