Questions linger over the management structure at Tekno Autosports on the eve of the Armor All Gold Coast 600.
Team manager Bruce Jenkins was conspicuously absent from the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 earlier this month, triggering speculation that he had left the Holden outfit.
Jenkins and the team have both denied a parting of ways to Speedcafe.com, with a spokesperson for the latter stating that the Briton had been undertaking ‘special projects’ at Tekno’s Stapylton base.
Team owner Steve Webb led the two-car operation at Bathurst, although it remains unclear whether he’ll do so again this weekend.
Speculation has already linked Steve Hallam, who will be replaced in the role of Walkinshaw Racing managing director by Adrian Burgess in the new year, to a possible future at Tekno.
Jenkins stepped into the team manager position at Tekno in 2011, filling the shoes of Andy McElrea.
Jenkins boasts an impressive CV that has included stints in F1 as Ayrton Senna’s mechanic at McLaren and then at Stewart Grand Prix before it morphed into Jaguar earlier last decade.
