The Coates Hire Race of Stars is expected to attract more than 150 of Australia and New Zealand's top kart racers for the V8 Superfest event at the Gold Coast on October 19.
The inaugural event will see the cream of karters lured to the Gold Coast's Xtreme karting facility at Pimpana for the invitational event.
With Coates Hire signing on as major backer, it confirms the appeal of the grassroots class appealing to a bigger corporate audience.
The company is the major backer for the Rally Australia round of the World Rally Championship and is the official equipment supplier for V8 Supercars.
“We're continually trying to highlight the professionalism of the sport and recognise that it is not only a breeding ground for the future V8 Supercar stars but also a form of motorsport in its own right,” Karting Queensland President Ashley Waardenberg said.
“The Coates Hire Race of Stars will feature the best drivers from various parts of Australia and New Zealand across three pro categories and three ‘state-based' classes.
“The drivers in the Pro categories are expected to exceed 140km/h around the circuit as they race centimetres apart.”
Entry to the Race of Stars for spectators is free.
Racing will begin at 8:30am on October 19 before culminating in the finals from 2:30pm.
