Fabian Coulthard has kept his Race 15 victory at the Austin 400 despite being found to have breached the Safety Car restart regulations.

The top three drivers in the race – Coulthard, Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup – have all received 30 point penalties.

The original race result however remains unchanged.

The investigation occurred after Coulthard appeared to accelerate too early at the restart.

The Kiwi later explained that he had simply jumped when told to do so by his team.

The victory is Coulthard’s third of the season following a double success at Symmons Plains last month.
