Kelly brothers call on road users to ‘pace themselves’ over Easter

The Kelly brothers want people to ‘pace themselves’ over Easter
Jack Daniel’s Racing drivers Rick and Todd Kelly are using their public profile to encourage road users to ‘pace themselves’ on the roads this Easter holiday period.
With a number of teams and drivers rolling out safe driving campaigns for Easter, the key message from the Kelly brothers is for people to make sure fatigue doesn’t catch up with them over the four-day weekend.

“The Easter weekend is a great time for a bit of a holiday and with that generally comes a road trip, which is quite exciting, but it obviously needs to be treated seriously as well,” Rick Kelly said.

“You need to ensure that you pace yourself and allow a little bit more time than you actually need to get to your destination, just in case you need a couple of unscheduled stops to step out of the car, stretch your legs and make sure you hop in again with full concentration and focus on the job at hand.”
Todd Kelly has emphasised the importance of preparation, especially for the long trips like he will be taking this weekend from Melbourne to his native Mildura.
“It’s very important to take any longer road trip seriously with good preparation, good planning and make sure that you’ve rested up and eaten well. You also need to manage your trip along the way as well,” Todd Kelly said.
“It’s only one little mistake you need to make and it could be your first and last, so it’s very important that you prepare correctly and monitor feelings of fatigue.”
