Following the recent change of ownership of Melbourne's Calder Park, the Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) has made the decision to postpone its February event at the outer Melbourne venue.
Rounds of the Australian Top Doorslammer, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle Championships were slated for next month, however have been put off until a suitable date can be found with the new ownership. The event scheduled for mid-October remains on track at this point in time.
ANDRA CEO, Mal Bulley insists this is a minor setback due to the short timeframe between the venue ownership changing hands and the event taking place and has vowed to continue discussions with Calder Park.
“All of our members and in particular our Victorian base should be aware that we are continuing to work with Calder Park and the relationship remains healthy,” he said.
“ANDRA together with Calder Park management are working towards a strong return on 19-20 October 2013 for the Top Fuel, Top Bike and Pro Stock Motorcycle rounds scheduled.”
The next ANDRA Drag Racing Championship event will be round four of the Australian Top Fuel Championship at the Perth Motorplex over the weekend of February 1-2.
