Engine failures destroy season-end for two teams at Ruapuna

Colin Corkery

Two entries will not compete and a third has narrowly avoided being forced to withdraw at Ruapuna this weekend amid lingering issues with the American-built Mosler engines.

Colin Corkery and co-driver Jeroen Bleekemolen were early casualties when the engine failed in their Racing Projects Falcon before qualifying.

The same fate befell Kayne Scott and Simon Evans’ Team 4 Commodore while Andy Booth and Tony D’Alberto managed to avoid another potential withdrawal. The field for the twin 53-lap races today is down to 17 starters.
